Irene-Romana Nosyk

IRENE-ROMANA NOSYK
Irene was born in Chortkiv in western Ukraine. She studied art at the University of Innsbruck and at the Art Academy of the wellknown Austrian artist Kirchmayer in Innsbruck. Irene continued her studies at the Ontario College of the Art and was the first woman in Canada to work as a Biology Graphic Artist at the University of Toronto. She specializes in oil, acrilic, colour inks and mosaics, Over the years, Irene has had many individual exhibitions. She has participated in numerous group shows and her art can be found in many collections in North America.

Her portrait of Dr.Ivan Horbachevsky, Rector and Founder of Czech Medical Chemistry hangs at the Charles University in Prague. Her works as an artist with the Department of Zoology at The University of Toronto are located in the permanent University of Toronto archives and six of her printings are in the permanent Collection of The University of Toronto Libraries.
